Rolawn Topsoil Production

Topsoil under production

Our soils are derived from prime arable land and are only despatched after it has been conditioned for 2 to 3 years.

removing lumps and over-sized stones

The soil is screened to remove lumps and over-sized stones.

Topsoil in storage

Bulk loads of screened loam are stored under cover which enables Rolawn to supply large volumes of workable topsoil, regardless of weather conditions.

Topsoil being sampled

The new British Standard for Topsoil (BS3882:2007) stipulates that soil suppliers must ensure testing is undertaken every 5000 cubic metres. Rolawn's sampling protocol complies with these requirements. Samples are tested to establish textural classification (percentage of sand, silt and clay), pH & salinity values, PTE levels, stone content, nutrient levels and organic content.

Topsoil being bagged

The screened topsoil is blended with a peat-free soil conditioner in our purpose built topsoil blending and bagging plant.

Bulk loads of topsoil delivered by tipper trucks

Bulk (loose) loads of top soil are delivered in rigid or articulated tipper vehicles in load sizes from 10 tonnes to 29 tonnes.

Walking floor vehicle

Blended Loam can also be delivered using a walking-floor vehicle where there are height restrictions on site.

Topsoil being delivered in tote bags

Rolawn topsoils are also available in bulk bags (dumpy/builders bags) and small bags.
